Potato Cheese Torte
3 tbs.  softened butter
6 medium sized potatoes, 
peeled  and thinly  sliced
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 tsp. fresh parsley
dash  salt, pepper
2 cups (8 oz) shredded cheese
(Swiss or mild cheddar is best)
1/4 cup heavy cream,  warmed
dash paprika
Preheat  oven to 400 degrees. Grease a  2 quart bowl. Dash parley in bottom
of  bowl and then alternate layers of potatoes,  parmesan cheese, salt, pepper,
and shredded cheese.  Bake tightly covered for about 1  hour and 15 minutes,
or until potatoes are tender. Let stand for 10 minutes then invert onto a serving
platter. Drizzle cream over top and sprinkle  paprika over top.
Garnish with any remaining parsley
