| Sights,
Sounds, and Smells
Tinsel and holly and mistletoe,
Pine trees and snowmen, faces aglow;
The smell of cookies fresh from the oven;
The spirit of joy and peace and loving;
The voices of carolers, clear on the air;
Snowflakes and angels, bells everywhere;
The bustle of shoppers with packages bright;
Shimmering icicles glistening at night;
Fruitcakes baking and holiday pies;
The laughter of children with stars in
their eyes;
Santa and sleighbells and reindeer that
fly;
Plum pudding and eggnog -- friends dropping
by.
These are the sights, smells, and sounds
of the season;
Bur pause for a moment, remember the reason.
